Ford is an automaker known for innovations in safety and technology year after year. Now the American automaker is delivering a whole host of active safety technologies designed to make the road a safer place.
Parallel parking on tight city streets can be a pain. Active Park Assist makes parking a breeze. All drivers have to do is shift into reverse and operate the brake and gas pedals. The system will take control of the wheel and maneuver accordingly. It will even give visual and audible directions to the driver!
Adaptive Cruise Control is a major advancement on the standard cruise control we know and love. The system allows the driver to set the maximum speed, just like with normal cruise control. Adaptive Cruise Control, however, will slow down when it detects the vehicle ahead doing the same. It’s a great technology to have in bumper-to-bumper traffic.
Ford is one of a handful of automakers to offer a Blind Spot Information System with Rear-Cross Traffic Alert. Designed to aid drivers intending to switch lanes, the Blind Spot Information System detects vehicles who may not be visible. The system can detect vehicles up to 10 feet behind the bumper. The Rear-Cross Traffic Alert system warns drivers of vehicles approaching from either side when the vehicle is set in reverse.
